Dean has two decades of experience in corporate finance and business management across the USA, Japan, Korea, China, and Vietnam. He has deep entrepreneurial passion with strong leadership and client development expertise. Prior to founding GoldenRock Capital in 2015 (formerly Redsun Capital), he spent 6 years as the Corporate Finance Director at VinaCapital Corporate Finance Group and VinaSecurities, leading teams focused on financial institutions, real estate, and industrial sectors. Notably, he led the FIG team in collaboration with Macquarie, completing Vietnam’s first-ever domestic bank M&A consolidation involving three banks in 2012.

His extensive management experience includes overseeing the P&L for a $1.5 billion IBM business segment and holding executive roles at renowned global organizations, including IBM, Hitachi, Samsung, and Chevron USA. He also co-founded and served as COO for online e-commerce startups Golinq.com and Everyone.net. He holds an Investment Fund Management License granted by the Vietnam State Securities Commission and earned an MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah and an MBA from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
